Terence Riley

Terence Riley is a founding partner with John Keenen of the highly respected architectural practice of K/R (Keenen/Riley, 1984). Keenen and Riley recently formed a new partnership with the eminent curator and art historian Joachim Pissarro, which combines design and curatorial expertise with the goal of producing more thoughtful and more successful cultural spaces and experiences: Parallel (2015).

Harold Wanless

Dr. Harold R. Wanless is Professor and Chair of the Department of Geological Sciences and was Cooper Fellow in the College of Arts and Sciences 2010-2013. From 1971-1992 he was a faculty member in Marine Geology and Geophysics at RSMAS, and in Geological Sciences in the College of Arts and Sciences since 1992. Since joining the University of Miami, he and his students have been studying the dynamics and evolution of tropical shallow marine and coastal environments of south Florida and the Bahamas.

Mary Spio grew up in Ghana and was 16 when her parents saved up enough money to send her to the United States. Her first job was at a McDonald's. Since then, she has served in the Air Force and created content and technologies for global titans such as Boeing, Lucas Films, Universal Music, Miami Children's Hospital, and Microsoft Xbox. Today, she is the head of CEEK VR, a developer of innovative content solutions and tools for distributing virtual-reality and augmented-reality experiences.

Isabel Castilla

Educated in both architecture and landscape architecture, Isabel Castilla brings exceptional attention to design creativity, detailing and construction implementation.  She is currently the lead designer and project manager the for Section 3 of New York’s High Line; Miami Beach’s Lincoln Road District; the Duas Barras Resort on the North-West Coast of Brazil; and The Underline in Miami, a 10-mile long corridor of parkland, trails and neighborhood connections.

Hamish Smyth

Hamish Smyth is a New York based graphic designer.  Hamish holds a Bachelor of Design (Communication Design) degree with Honors from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT University), Melbourne, Australia.

From 2010 to 2016 Hamish Smyth worked at the New York office of Pentagram Design under partner Michael Bierut on a variety of identity, wayfinding, and publication design projects. In 2015, he became an associate partner. He is also owner of Hamish Smyth Design.

John Stuart

John Stuart is a registered architect and principal of John Stuart Architecture with research interests focused on architectural design, its contexts, and its impact.  He is currently a 2007-08 New York Prize Fellow at the Van Alen Institute.  During his residency at the institute he will develop “TimeZone,” a built project intended to empower communication between diverse people in public spaces in an effort to address global poverty and the “digital divide.”
