New Retail Survey Released

King Retail Solutions (Eugene, Ore.) has released the results of its Fall 2013 survey of more than 1,200 U.S. Millennial, Generation X, and Baby Boomer consumers. The study, conducted by KRS in collaboration with the University of Arizona Center for Retailing, emphasizes the changing face of the retail industry and shoppers’ evolving attitudes toward where they will shop for groceries, fresh meals, apparel, and services ranging from haircuts to medical treatment.

California Design Exhibit

The Peabody Essex Museum (Salem, Mass.) presents California Design, 1930–1965: Living in a Modern Way, an exhibition of more than 250 mid-century modern design objects. A diverse array of works including furniture, textiles, fashion, classic vehicles, and much more celebrates the impact of California designers between 1930 to 1965. The output of legendary designers Charles and Ray Eames, Richard Neutra, and R.M.

Poulin + Morris

Poulin + Morris (New York) worked with Alpha Workshops, which is the nation's only non-profit organization that trains and employs HIV-positive individuals in the decorative arts. Staffed exclusively by graduates of its training program, Alpha Workshops is a full-service, award-winning design and decorative arts studio that produces hand-crafted wall paper, lighting, tables, and decorative accessories, as well as provides custom fabrication and finishes.
