During his tenure there, his students have garnered more than 5,000 local and national awards, and his graduates are employed in the most highly respected firms and agencies in the world, including And Partners, The Attic, Cartoon Network, CNN, DesGrippes Gobe, Goodby Silverstein, Hornell Anderson, Hallmark, Landor, Leo Burnett, Martha Stewart, MTV, Pentagram, The Richards Group, Sapient and VSA and others. Hank is an avid teacher and inspiring leader in design education.

Seth Capshaw, Miira Artist Tools
Seth Capshaw

Seth Capshaw is Lead Designer for Miira Artist Tools, a start-up that develops innovative tools for developing and experienced artists. He has been as the designer and co-inventor of Miira’s signature product The View Frame, the design of the UX and UI of the Miira iOS application, as well as the brand of the company and it’s products.

Gretchen Cherrill, Airpark Signs & Graphics
Gretchen Wilde

Gretchen Wilde is a co-chair of the Phoenix Chapter.

Gretchen Wilde started Airpark Signs & Graphics, a leader in architectural signage in the Southwest, in her mothers family room in 1983. The company has cultivated extensive expertise in all facets of the process, from design through fabrication and installation. Gretchen and Airpark Signs & Graphics are mindful of the impact of architectural detail on the integrity of projects as a whole. They work closely with their clients to realize their vision and enhance their overall objectives.

Will Ayers, GNU Group
Will Ayers

Will Ayers is a principal and leader of GNU Group's Southern California office, located in an iconic architectural landmark - the Fine Arts Building -  in downtown Los Angeles. He serves as a design strategist and is a member of the GNU Group’s Leadership Team, which is responsible for management oversight of all aspects of the group's practice. Will Ayers brings to the firm an extraordinary pedigree in environmental branding and experiential design.

Mark Andreasson, Design Communications Ltd.
Mark Andreasson

Mark Andreasson is President of Design Communications Ltd. (DCL), a leading fabricator in the environmental graphic design profession and partner in numerous award-winning EGD projects. DCL has collaborated on signage systems for some of the most high-profile clients in the world, from Coca-Cola and Boy Scouts of America to the Newseum and the Royal Bank of Scotland.

Martin Treu, Treu Design
Martin Treu

Martin Treu is an architect, author, graphic designer and urbanist. For the past two decades he has been tracking the historic evolution of the American commercial corridor. Martin is author of Signs, Streets, and Storefronts. The book addresses more than 200 years of signs and place-marking along America’s commercial corridors. From small-town squares to Broadway, State Street, and Wilshire Boulevard, Martin Treu follows design developments into the present and explores issues of historic preservation.

Heather Alhadeff, AICP, LEED Green Associate is President of Center Forward LLC. While the company is young, the knowledge is grounded by 15 years of Atlanta-specific planning experience. Private and public sector experience guides the firm, through the planning process with various agencies and communities, into realistic and outcome-based solutions.

Kevin Green

Kevin Green joined Midtown Alliance in July 2011. Kevin has been a resident of the City of Atlanta for over 25 years and has been working for much of that time to advance livability and economic opportunity in the Atlanta region.

Leo Alvarez, Perkins+Will
Leo Alvarez

Mr. Alvarez, Design Principal and Inaugural National Urban Design Discipline Leader for Perkins+Will, has been practicing landscape architecture, urban design and architecture for over 30 years. He has successfully completed a wide variety of project types including urban design plans, new community designs, transportation facilities, educational environments, healthcare facilities, commercial projects and historic preservation efforts. His projects have been published and reviewed in a number of venues and he has received design awards for his creative and built work.

Andreas Uebele

Andreas Uebele, born in 1960, studied architecture and urban planning at the University of Stuttgart, and art at the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design. In 1996, he founded his own visual communications agency in Stuttgart, and since 1998 has been a professor for communications design at Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences. In the same year he became a member of Forum Typografie. Andreas Uebele has been a member of the Type Directors Club of New York and of the Art Directors Club of New York since 2002.

Per Mollerup

Per Mollerup, Dr. Tech., is a writer, design thinker, and professor of communication design at Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne. From 1984 to 2009, he was owner and principal of Designlab, a Copenhagen-based, award-winning design consultancy specialized in wayshowing and branding. He is the author of four books, including Wayshowing>Wayfinding (2013) and Wayshowing, A Guide to Environmental Signage (2005).
