Stewart Bailey is founder of Intu Design, an Ottawa, Canada-based consultancy specializing in the design of amenities for public spaces. Intu develops site-specific solutions for signage, wayfinding, interpretation and furnishings for interior and exterior environments.
Stewart Bailey is a graduate of Carleton University’s Bachelor of Industrial Design program (1991). He’s been involved in EGD projects for 25 years, and has designed projects for some of Canada’s most important public sites, including Parliament Hill and the Rideau Canal UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Led by founder and principal designer Stewart Bailey since 1997, Intu Design seeks out the best talent to create flexible design teams tailored to suit the needs of each project. Our design partners include Engineers, Architects and Landscape Architects, Lighting Designers, Software Developers, Graphic Designers and Content Specialists.
Our projects have ranged from the creation of sign manuals in the form of a web app, to high tech street kiosks integrating LED displays and DMX controlled RGB signage through to site specific furnishings. We’ve developed large custom signage and wayfinding systems for vehicles and hikers in wilderness parks, and have developed wayfinding solutions for complex buildings and high security environments.
