Square Peg Design (Oakland, Calif.) was retained by Walt Disney Imagineering to develop the thematic visual layer for their latest family resort in Disney World, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. The firm worked very closely with Disney Imagineering and Pixar to bring the graphic imagery of Cars, Nemo, The Little Mermaid, and The Lion King to life in the resort environment. The scope of work included project identity/logo, architectural patterning and color, feature identity signing, feature icons, building icons and graphic amenities, featured thematic amenities, themed stair enclosures, and interior graphic art.

Square Peg also designed signing for Boulevard Plaza in the Burj Dubai development. The project was the firm’s fifth project for Emaar in downtown Dubai; others include wayfinding and signage programs for Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa Tower, Dubai Mall Hotel, and the Downtown Dubai Public Realm.

New projects on the boards for Square Peg include the Four Seasons Reserva do Paiva (Recife, Brazil), Vanke Baiyun New Town (Guangzhou, China), Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort (Bali, Indonesia), Four Seasons Resort (Lanai, Hawaii), Salwa Resort (Salwa, Qatar), Ghirardelli Chocolate (Las Vegas), and Westfield Village at Topanga (Conoga Park, Calif.).
