Soon to Open DC Memorial Highly Ranked

The American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial has been ranked as one of DC's most notable war memorials by Curbed DC. Currently under construction,
it is the only incomplete memorial to make Curbed DC's list and its highly anticipated opening will take place in October 2014.

Cloud Gehshan Associates (Philadephia), in collaboration with sculptor Larry Kirkland, designed the site's interpretive content including 48 glass panels that feature powerful quotations and images of disabled veterans and their personal journeys of courage and sacrifice.

This memorial joins a family of significant memorial sites including the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial and World War II Memorial;
it will be the only memorial dedicated to American veterans living with permanent disabilities.
