Ten years after Lee H. Skolnick Architecture + Design Partnership created an Interpretive Master Plan for them, the National Lighthouse Museum is set to open the first phase of inaugural exhibits designed by the firm for their Educational Resource Center.
The Resource Center will be located on the historic site of the original US Lighthouse Services General Depot on the St. George Waterfront in Staten Island, N.Y. The NLM Resource Center will become a home base to initiate the education and preservation of lighthouse history for generations to come.
Miguel Cardenas, Senior Design Associate at LHSA+DP and manager for this project was recently interviewed in Civil Engineering Magazine about the history of the building, and its rehabilitation and development. The National Lighthouse museum was also recently featured in Architectural Digest and The International New York Times.
