Sarah Jane Jones is a Lecturer and PhD Student at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS).
Sarah Jane Jones has 20 years experience in visual communication design practice in Sydney, Auckland, Christchurch and Singapore, and lectures in visual communication design at The University of Technology, Sydney. She is currently responsible for the second year typography core subject, print production electives and environmental graphics subjects and teaches in Socially Responsive Design, the Honours year and Design Practice. She is also a PhD student (researching in the field of visible language and environmental graphics/wayfinding).
Sarah Jane Jones has won Australian Graphic Design Awards; been a finalist in the New Zealand Best Awards, and represented UTS at the 2015 AGDA Awards. She was a judge in the Australian Book Design Awards 2017 and her undergraduate thesis was published in the USA in a publication/journal from Virginia Commonwealth University ‘zed magazine’, edited by Katie Salen.
As a PhD student, Sarah Jane Jones is researching in the field of visible language and environmental graphics/wayfinding. Her students have won the following Awards for socially responsible design with projects they have designed in these classes: ISTD (2015), UTS Human Rights (2016), AGDA (2014, 2015).
