Sarah Aman is an exhibit and graphic designer with a passion for sustainable action and environmental conservation. Sarah hails from America’s High-Five (aka Michigan), and currently resides in St. Louis, Missouri where she works for PGAV Destinations. Combining her passion for the natural world and her skills is design, she strives to create impactful experiences that inspire, educate, and entertain. Her specialty is working with institutions such as zoos, aquariums, parks, and museums, where she gets to partner with people who are just as passionate about inspiring positive change as she is. At PGAV, Sarah Aman has put her skills to use for a variety of clients, including the St. Louis Aquarium at Union Station, the St. Louis Zoo, Grandfather Mountain Nature Museum, SeaWorld, and others. Along with her client work, Sarah founded and leads PGAV’s first corporate Green Team, led PGAV’s participation in the St. Louis Green Business Challenge (resulting in the company placing first in their category), and pitched and organized their first company Volunteer Day. She has also spoken at TEDx Gateway Arch on the importance of individual action in the face of overwhelming environmental issues in a talk entitled “Designing for Impact.”
Sarah Aman is equipped with a BFA in Graphic Design from Grand Valley State University and an MFA in Museum Exhibition Planning and Design from Philadelphia’s University of the Arts. Before coming to St. Louis, she worked as a graphic designer at the Discovery Communications headquarters in Silver Spring, MD. As part of the in-house creative agency team, she developed marketing materials for company networks including Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Velocity, and TLC. Additionally, she worked as a freelance designer for John Ball Zoo, designing interpretive signage and providing illustrations for various animal exhibits. In addition to her skills as a graphic and exhibit designer, Sarah is an illustrator, photographer, and writer.
In her free time, Sarah enjoys rock climbing, hiking, camping, kayaking…just about any outdoor adventure! She also has a passion for travel, seeking out new places to explore both close to home and abroad. When not exploring the great outdoors, she spends time reading, drawing, crafting, and attempting to train her cat, Lupin, to be an adventure cat (with moderate success)!
