Samantak Ray is an Interaction Design Student at Georgia Tech in Atlanta.
Samantak Ray is a Designer + Engineer who works on digital products and experiences. He is currently a Graduate Research Assistant at the Interaction Design Lab. Samantak Ray believes in user centered design methodology and is at his strongest when analyzing and converting research into creative insights and design requirements.
Samantac's current role is at the intersection of electronic engineering and industrial design with a focus on physical computing. Some of the many hats Samantak wears in the lab are Researcher, Prototyper, Physical Interaction Designer and Product Owner.
In summary, he practices the role of a creative technologist, developing and executing interaction design concepts for various industry sponsors (like General Motors, BMW and UISee) in partnership with the Interaction Design Lab.
On these multiple mobility focused projects Samantak ideates, builds and tests sensor-based interaction design concepts with the goal of improving the in-car experience for riders and drivers.
His latest projects include an AI pet for elderly adults and an interactive grocery store experience.
Samantak Ray completed his Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Industrial Design at Georgia Tech and is presently working towards his Masters in Industrial Design.
