RSM Design (San Clemente, Calif.) helped shape the name, identity and wayfinding and graphics program for Pacific City, a new retail experience across from the famed Huntington Beach pier.
Historically, Pacific City was the maiden name of the California village that would eventually become Huntington Beach. Over a span of 7 years, RSM Design worked with various project owners--including developer DJM Capital Partners Inc., design architect Jerde and project architect SMS Architects--to reintroduce the historic name for the unique retail experience, situated on 31 acres.
RSM Design created a distinct identity along with signage and a wayfinding program that captures the spirit of the beach-side shopping and dining experience. The team paired bright colors and rustic materials to complement the eclectic cabana-chic beach theme.
