The founder and CEO of NanoLumens, Rick Cope is the embodiment of entrepreneurial spirit in the digital signage space. Following his time as a Combat Commander in the U.S. military, Rick has spent over 25 years in the industry thriving in a variety of leadership roles for NanoLumens, during which time he guided NanoLumens in innovating the industry’s only truly curved LED display.
Through Rick’s vision and leadership, NanoLumens creates experiential LED displays that exceed the imaginations of global clients in retail, transportation, gaming, higher education, stadiums and arenas, houses of worship, and soon, cinema. Rick has also stridently guarded the integrity of digital display firms’ proprietary intellectual property, and fiercely protects industry members against copyright infringement.
Prior to his NanoLumens career, Rick served as a manager at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, the independent research branch of the U.S. Department of Defense, where he planned and implemented the hybrid and electric vehicle program in the early 1990s.
An avid proponent of veteran’s affairs and several other charitable organizations, Rick currently serves on the board of the National Christian Foundation. Mr. Cope possesses profound expertise with high-tech and high-growth companies and is a negotiating dynamo who knows how to identify a ground-breaking idea and bring it to life, as evidenced by his holding of over 30 industry patents.
In his spare time, Rick likes to crush cars with battery operated tanks at DARPA.
