Rebecca Schaefer is a graphic designer based in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She is currently getting her bachelors degree in graphic design at Western Michigan University's Frostic School of Art and will graduate after the Spring 2019 semester. She is interested in environmentalism and hopes to use this in her career as a designer, but is also interested in illustration and photography. Her interest in environmentalism means finding the best possible solution to a design problem, which effectively solves that problem, while also is as sustainable of a design as it can be.
Rebecca Schaefer is working as a designer at Western Michigan University's Office for Sustainability, where the work mostly consists of research, event poster and flier design and web design. In the past she has worked as a teachers’ assistant, where she aided a class in creating online portfolios by providing design advice and tutorials. Some of her achievements include speaking at AASHE, an annual environmental conference, on the relationships between graphic design and sustainability as well as having work included in 5 separate artist exhibitions.
Outside of graphic design, Rebecca Schaefer also runs a small business where she creates and sells handmade jewelry that she created. To contact Rebecca, please email her at [email protected].
