Poulin + Morris (New York) developed the environmental graphics for Princeton University's recently inaugurated Neuroscience Institute and Department of Psychology complex.
The 248,000-sq.-ft., two-building complex, designed by Rafael Moneo to LEED Silver standards, houses the university's Neuroscience Institute and Peretsman Scully Hall, centralizing resources for studying neural and behavioral sciences and offering state-of-the-art research and teaching facilities.
Poulin + Morris’ EGD program features carved marble inlaid into the glass facade of the two buildings, reflecting the complex’s exterior custom-made ribbed-glass panels. Interior identification sign panels displaying information in stainless steel letters allow light to pass through them, creating subtle shadows. Vibrant red walls displaying the Princeton shield and donor recognition add a bold graphic element to an otherwise minimalist environment.
