Poulin + Morris (New York) created a comprehensive environmental graphics and wayfinding sign program for the Newark, N.J., headquarters of Prudential.
A 12-ft.-high, dimensional, stainless steel logotype, accompanied by the company’s iconic “Rock” symbol, are displayed on LED-illuminated signs situated at the top of the building, above the main entrance and at the building’s plaza level.
Headquartered in Newark for over 140 years, Prudential recently expanded, erecting a 20-story, 675,000-sq.-ft. LEED Gold-certified tower in the heart of the city. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, the new headquarters was designed to revitalize the neighborhood while relocating hundreds of employees to a central location.
The interior sign program includes additional “Rock” signs prominently featured on the building’s third floor, where a conference center and executive offices are located. High-polish stainless steel, glass and bronze sign panels identify various business units, trading floors, floor levels and room numbers throughout the building, while the facility’s health and wellness center showcases motivational wall murals composed in Prudential’s signature blue color palette. A branding program for the Parkview Café, the employee dining facility, was developed for all printed materials and graphic sign elements, including a digital template to display the café menus on iPads.
The project fabricator was Design Communications Ltd.
