Phil Otto is always exploring the intersection between architecture, design, art and culture. The creation of systems, guidelines, and concepts that maximize purpose and value has been a hallmark of his work.
After completing his training in cultural anthropology at Stanford, he began working as an educator and creative director on projects for museums, retailers and developers. Through these experiences Phil arrived at his unique approach to culturally based projects.
Phil has maintained dialog between the interconnected worlds of design and strategy throughout his career, always keeping culture and connection to community at the forefront of the approach. He has worked across a variety of platforms to create work that is both practical and poetic.
Phil has had the privilege to work with some of the premier brands in the world, including Anthropologie, Coca-Cola International, Levi’s, Nike, Undefeated, The North Face, Free People, Urban Outfitters, and REI Co-op, to name a few.
