Pentagram (New York), working with the Aldo Group, has created a pop-up shop for the launch of Truth or Dare, the new shoe collection from music superstar Madonna. Installed at Selfridges London, the store design captures the line’s unique mix of pop and luxury in a stage-like display that features shoes in gilded cages. “Cages keep beautiful things in and dangerous things contained,” says Daniel Weil of Pentagram, who created the shop.

Lorenzo Apicella and his team at Pentagram San Francisco designed a trade show environment for Mercury, a leading provider of point-of-sale payment technology. The design debuted at the 2012 RetailNOW conference in Las Vegas and marks the rollout of Mercury’s new brand identity. The installation features three 16-foot-high modular towers where Mercury personnel can engage visitors and demonstrate products and services.

William Russell has designed the first stand-alone UK store for fashion designer Margaret Howell’s MHL line. Located in a converted warehouse in London’s East End, the store is the latest in a decade-long collaboration between Russell and Howell and places the brand in a workshop-like setting that complements the clothing’s contemporary take on workwear.
