Patrick Blanchard is an environmental graphic design intern at HOK. He received a Bachelors of Fine Art, Graphic Design at the University of Kansas. He also serves as a Jayhawk Inc Clerk at the KU Memorial Unions. His previous work includes a position as a communications coordinator at The Center for Community Outreach, Student Assistant, orientation coordinator, and resident assistant at Kansas University.
Patrick Blanchard contributed as a lead designer to “10000 Hours”, the theme for the 2016 KU Design Week, an annual series of events that aims to promote interdisciplinary design thinking to KU students, the Lawrence community and beyond. Each year is given a unique theme that helps guide the schedule of events and the visual identity produced. This project has been awarded Best in Show and Best Group Project by the Dallas National Student Show.
Patrick Blanchard also received recognition for his project Plip, a new social media app that connects users through their shared space. Focused on building a sense of local community and shared experience with the people around you, Plip uses existing social media habits and technology in a new way. Plip was a selected for both the Dallas National Student Show and Flux 2015 Student Design Competition as a Digital Interaction entry.
