Nick Bannikoff

Nick Bannikoff is a Design Director at BrandCulture in Sydney, Australia and co-chair for the Sydney Chapter.

He graduated as an architect and industrial designer in 1991, and today he is one of Australia’s leading wayfinding and experiential designers.

Having worked for architectural, industrial and graphic design firms, Nick brings genuine cross-disciplinary design experience, an awareness of both macro and micro scale design parameters – as well as two decades of design expertise – to every project.

He has planned signage and environmental graphics for parks, retail centres, campuses, mixed-use developments, cities – even the odd small country – for clients like SOCOG, Transport for NSW, State of Qatar and City of Melbourne, to name a few.

In 2017, Nick was elected co-Chair of the Society for Experiential Graphic Design’s (SEGD) Sydney chapter. He is also Technical Adviser at PAM Wayfinding – a Sydney-based technology platform that helps to create connected and interactive smart environments.

In life before BrandCulture, Nick worked at Zinc de, Diadem, Minale Bryce and Design Resource. He completed his Bachelors Degree in Architecture at the University of Melbourne and a Bachelors Degree in Industrial and Product Design from RMIT University.

Off Grid 18 in Summary

“Off Grid 18,”the second-annual international experiential graphic design event created by the Wellington Chapter of SEGD, transpired over four days and four cities in late February. The theme was “Experiential City,” which posed the question, “What is the ‘experiential city’ and where does design fit in?”
