Bob Hoeller, president & CEO of Neiman & Company (Van Nuys, Calif.) died May 14 after a lengthy illness.
Bob began working with Neiman & Company founder Harry Neiman in the late 1960s and became his business partner in the 1980s. For more than 30 years Bob was the behind-the-scenes hub of production, meeting deadlines and overseeing quality fabrication. Ever the keen eye for detail, Bob came by his penchant for graphics honestly as the grandson of a printer. Over the years he helped grow the company and developed new capabilities, while maintaining a family atmosphere for the entire staff. As an owner, Bob often took younger workers under his wing as their coach and mentor. He will be remembered by colleagues and friends as a great teacher and a kind man who loved to tell stories about the early days in the architectural signage business.
