Michael Katz joined Whitlock, a video collaboration and A/V integration company, at the beginning of 2017 as a Key Account Manager for the Northeast region (NY/NJ/CT). He has more than 30 years of experience supporting domestic and global corporations with a focus on delivering broadcast, telecom, AV/IT, data storage and video managed services solutions. Michael provides superior account management support for enterprise accounts in the financial, legal, manufacturing, media, service and technology markets.
His career includes many notable projects. He directed, produced and co-wrote an investment fraud video for the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office, If It Sounds Too Good to Be True, It Probably Is in 1993 (George Ryan for anyone from Illinois!) Michael Katz sold the largest single expandable RAID FC SAN (30TB) with a tape backup system to American Express/NYC in 1998; of course, now you can get 3TB on a hard drive! He worked on the Weil, Gotshal & Manges Boardroom project (published in Sound & Communication magazine in 2014) and has the original magazine edition if anyone is interested in some light technical reading. He worked on successfully winning the Phase One Executive Floors of a five-year OneCiti Project for $9,500,000 in 2015 -- and the clients still like him.
Michael Katz received training and holds certifications from many major manufacturers including Polycom, Cisco, Haivision, Mersive, McData, Oracle, Hitachi, BMC, Herman Miller and Global Presence Alliance among others. Michael Katz holds a Bachelor of Science in television/film/radio and a minor in writing from Ithaca College. He enjoys blocking shots, stealing passes and making sky hooks while playing basketball on Sunday mornings and occasionally going to the gym.
