Naz Ertugrul is born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey. After discovering her interest in creating interiors and constructing environments through computer games, she has exerted her passion by achieving mastery in Interior Design at Parsons School of Design. Now, she is continuing to expand her interest in Exhibition and Experience Design at Fashion Institute of Technology.
Her main concentration evolves around the themes of flexibility and convertibility which fits into the view of contemporary design in a constant flux of change. Her goal is to put effort in creating abstract and sculptural habitats that can also function as pragmatic and environmentally conscious spaces. She aims for her work to speak to the multi-dimensionality of the natural environment and seek its material and non-tangible qualities to be sculpted into a narrative volumetric physicality.
Naz Ertugrul has interned in multiple firms and also participated in volunteer works. She has been nominated for many design competitions including Angelo Donghia Foundation, Yabu Pushelberg and New York Decorators Club with runner up titles. Her work has been previewed at the Teknion x NY11+ Exhibition.
