Chicago native turned sunny Southern California transplant, Brian Erlinder is a multi-disciplinary graphic designer with over 20 years of experience, currently directing firmwide branding and signage efforts for the architecture and design firm SAA. Prior to joining SAA to build and grow the practice area he led branding and signage efforts for Gensler’s Newport Beach office and served as a Senior Designer for Perkins+Will’s Chicago office.
Brian’s work has been recognized and featured by industry peers including AIA, IIDA, Communication Arts (cover), Graphis, HOW, Interior Design Magazine, the Chicago Architecture Foundation and more. He has partnered with clients around the world from a broad spectrum of sectors including tech, science, healthcare, education, not-for-profit, sports and finance on projects small to large including American Express, Bank of America, USO, Microsoft, International Olympic Committee (IOC) and others. Brian leverages an ever evolving research based approach and combines elements of graphic design, signage, interior design and emerging technology in his work, ranging from brand positioning and identity design to fully immersive branded environments. He credits his mother with his life long love of learning, his father with his habit of questioning ‘conventional wisdom’. In his free time when he’s not thinking about design he enjoys trail running, pretending to surf and exploring the West coast with his wife Rebecca and Klee Kai, Bowie.
