Congratulations to Mustafa Ecer,the winner of the 2019 SEGD Student Scholarship!

Mustafa Ecer is a current MA candidate in Exhibition and Experience Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology. He is also an internationally trained designer, born and raised in Turkey.

Ecer moved to Brooklyn in 2014 and earned his undergraduate degree with a major in Interior Design and minor in Performance Studies from Pratt Institute. Ecer graduated with honors, achieving outstanding merit and Academic Excellence Awards. Prior to that, he took numerous academic and design courses abroad in the United Kingdom, Italy and Denmark. Ecer has worked in art and design, holding positions at art galleries and from residential to retail design firms.

"I am a conceptual thinker who molds spatial ideas into reality," writes Ecer of himself. "Being a true perfectionist, I love working hands-on and do not hesitate to get hands dirty for the completion of a task."

In 2018, SEGD developed the SEGD Student Scholarship to support Graduate Exhibition & Experience Design students during their studies at FIT and support their growth and development as designers as they enter the profession of Experiential Graphic Design. SEGD is committed to fostering the growth of the next generation of designers at the student level as they prepare to enter into and propel the profession forward.
