Margo Malter is an MA student at FIT, Fashion Institute of Technology.
Margo is already a Deans Fellow in writing and earned the SEGD Student Scholarship Award this year.
At MICA (Maryland Institute College of Art, in addition to the breadth of training Margo Malter received in fine art, she was also part of the Exhibition Development Seminar with professor Daniel D’Oca. Margo was part of the Exhibition Design team for their exhibition Baltimore: Open City which planned the entire exhibition and received a $10,000 grant from the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore.
Margo Malter worked as Executive Director at Open Space (2010-2017) where she oversaw the design and execution of 30+ curated exhibitions in their gallery and two large scale annual festivals: the Artist-Run Art Fair (ARAF) and the Publications and Multiples Fair (PMF). her work with the organization included facilitating weekly meetings and maintaining Open Space’s internal communications. In this role she did ground up program development and developed sustainability strategies for these programs. Additionally Margo wrote a $6,000 Grit Fund grant Open Space received in 2015.
Margo Malter has also been a Studio Art Teacher at the Young Schools where she taught a wide variety of art media to a group of 40 preschool-age children.
