Marc Rifkin is a Digital Signage Designer/Developer at Scala located in the Los Angeles area. He has 20+ years developing innovative creative interactive media for advertising, information and educational applications. Marc specializes in Digital Signage using Scala software. Marc has been with Scala over 23 years, participating in services, support and training as well as product design and marketing. Prior to Scala, Marc was a multimedia consultant for various companies in the technology, advertising and educational industries. Marc holds a Bachelor of Arts in Quantitative Business Analysis from Penn State University, and participated in Penn State's Visual Engineering Lab which pioneered combining science and creativity in the early 90's.
Marc Rifkin started back when most digital signage networks were based on dial-up modem and boxy CRT monitors. Scala’s main product, InfoChannel, was popular in hotels and Cable TV advertising. Everyone was doing pilots, very few actual deployments.
Nowadays his time is mostly dedicated to customer projects that require specialized content, integrations or interactivity. From corporate comm (lobbies, way-finders, event schedules) to retail (sensors, social feeds, interactive kiosks) and restaurants (menu boards).
