Lonny Israel is a Principal at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM).
As part of an international design practice that encompasses architecture, interiors and urban design, Lonny Israel has forged a new genre of environmental graphics, one that is deeply influenced by interdisciplinary collaboration and simultaneously, a transformative force within the built realm.
He is SOM's firm-wide leader in branding, identity and graphic design, and has won numerous awards for his work for clients such as the Oakland Museum of California, Dublin Airport, Autodesk, Cathedral of Christ the Light, San Francisco International Airport, Bay Area Discovery Museum, Beijing Finance Street, Milliken Carpet, Jianianhua Center and many others. His work has been recognized multiple times by SEGD, AIGA, AIA, Type Directors Club, Art Directors Club, Neocon, Graphis, Print and other design organizations and publications.
Lonny Israel holds a bachelor of fine arts degree from the Kansas City Art Institute.
A member of the 2013 SEGD Board of Directors, Lonny Israel served as the Co-Chair of the 2013 SEGD Conference: Above the Fog.
