Lee H. Skolnick Architecture + Design Partnership

Lee H. Skolnick Architecture + Design Partnership (New York) designed the interiors of the new Make-a-Wish-Foundation of New Jersey’s 20,000-sq.-ft. wish-granting facility for children with life-threatening illnesses.

Collaborating with Adirondack Studios (Argyle, N.Y.) and project architects RHM (Moorestown, N.J.), LHS+DP created an enchanted garden theme designed to make the act of wishing a magical event. The space is filled with large murals and faux-medieval wall tapestries decorated with fantastical animals such as dragons and unicorns. A large floor labyrinth draws the children further inside the space. Colorful stained-glass window images feature illustrations of Make-A-Wish children in heroic poses and princes and princesses.
