Lee Ater is principal and creative director at Seattle-based Lot22, specializing in brand and experience strategy, branded environments and exhibit design, integrated communication design, and placemaking through branded stories.
As a hands-on strategist, creative director and designer, Lee Ater has been designed comprehensive branding and environmental projects for nearly 20 years. She is driven to create relevant and meaningful experiences. Her whole-systems approach coupled with her right brain + left brain skill set allows her to strategize the big picture vision, keep projects moving forward, and simultaneously ensure design excellence.
Lee says that her mission in life is to make this world a more beautiful place. She believes thoughtful design helps us reach and inspire people at the core of their being. Lee sees every design project as an opportunity to do a little better than the last time; to learn a little more; to be inspired and to inspire others; to solve a bigger problem, and ultimately return something greater to the community and the world.
Lee's personal interests include: Hiking, biking and exploring nature. Art, philosophy, mythology and self-development. Mental illness awareness, research and advocacy.
Lee holds a BFA in Graphic Design from Arizona State University. She is committed to the advancement of environmental graphic design through rich and relevant experiences, and is an active member of SEGD.
