Lara Huchteman is an exhibition designer at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. She assists curators with exhibit layouts while composing an exhibit into a coherent visual experience, coordinates contemporary artists with museum installation personnel to facilitate the production of installations, and researches and specs materials for exhibits. She produces general interior design projects throughout the museum's facilities.
Lara Huchtemans educational background is in architecture (University of Oklahoma) and design history (Parsons, The New School for Design/ Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum). She has worked within an encyclopedic museum setting for the past 5 years. She loves museums and the opportunity exhibition design provides. She gets to create spaces while also indulging her passion for learning about art and history and sometimes even science!
Lara Huchteman was a teacher assistant at the New York School of Interior Design where she taught Historic Styles I, Ancients - 18th Century. Previous to that was Curatorial Intern at the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum. As a design team intern at Rees Associates, Lara produced architectural renderings for client presentations and project proposals, assisted the marketing department with their graphic design needs, and helped to produce a set of construction documents for a university lab facility.
