Lance Wyman, FSEGD, was featured in a recent Washington Post story about his revision of the iconic Washington (D.C.) Metro map. Wyman, who designed the original map when the system opened 30 years ago, was tasked with adding the soon-to-open Silver Line in Northern Virginia.
“In a way it was like designing camouflage,” Wyman said in his interview with the Post. “You had to adopt to changes but make it look like it hasn’t changed. You had to keep what had become a visual icon to the city.”
