After graduating from the University of California, Davis with a degree in Visual Communications, Kelly Stewart was immersed into the aviation industry as a designer for San Jose International Airport helping with their wayfinding experience. This led Kelly to the GNU Group where she quickly became an Intermediate Designer and has had a chance to work in a number of markets, primarily focusing on aviation. Her inside perspective of airport workings, and the knowledge and skills she acquired seeing projects of every scale through the design and implementation process has been invaluable.
Kelly Stewart’s professional highlights include the reconfiguration of signage from international terminals to parking lots, updating signage, fixing failing exterior signs, updating and creating wayfinding signage throughout different marketplaces, and the implementation of community arts programs. Her notable projects include the Los Angeles International Airport, Houston Hobby Airport, San Jose International Airport, Juan Santamaria International Airport, Facebook, Ruth Aswa San Francisco School of Arts, UCLA Medical Plaza, Ellis Partners, Napa County, and Brunswick.
Kelly Stewart enjoys dancing, crafting/designing for friends, and considers herself an amateur gardener.
In her spare time, she assists friends with projects like remodeling of their homes. Her on-going travels, visiting museums, reviewing design books, reading blogs, and creative brainstorming amongst friends inspire her design.
