Katherine Healey is an environmental and architectural designer at CallisonRTKL and Katherine Healey Designs. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design from Art Center College of Design.
To her, the traditional world of architecture draws less and less of a crowd everyday. The jaded public have become completely complacent to the buildings that surround them.
In today's world of snap chat and up to the second updates, people crave a more well rounded experience rather than just a beautiful outer shell. People need to be engaged on more than just one level. Environmental design is the answer to this problem of public ambivalence.
Environmental design is the glue between urban planning, architecture, interior, branding, graphics, systems, processes, experience and so much more. Katherine wants to bridge that gap and help the world remember that every building can once again be an experience to remember.
The beauty of being a designer is that she is not limited to a specific medium or one type. She is interested in any type of design that engages people in highly functional, smart designs. Katherine seeks to make the everyday experiences and processes better through excellent architectural design.
Katherine Healey has interned in various design firms, including RTKL, White Birch Studio, J.A. Jamieson Architects, BFJ Planning, and Janko Rasic Architects, PLLC.
