Kate Leonard is a Professor of Art at Colorado College in Colorado Springs.
Kate Leonard directs the Graphics Research Lab at Colorado College, an innovative interdisciplinary printmaking and design program. Although born and raised in New York City, Kate is a dual citizen of Australia and the U.S. and has traveled frequently between these two distant homelands. Kate Leonard’s work has been exhibited across the U.S. and abroad, and in 2008 she received an American Scandinavian Foundation Grant for her innovative photographic transfer paintings. Kate lives and works in Manitou Springs at the foothills of Pikes Peak and the Rocky Mountain Range and travels widely teaching workshops on her innovative photographic transfer paintings at Anderson Ranch in Colorado, the Valand School of Art in Gothenburg, Sweden and the Saimaa University of Applied Sciences in Lappeenranta, Finland.
Kate Leonard completed her undergraduate Liberal Arts Degree at Grinnell College and received specialized training in printmaking, studying with Karen Kunc. Kate Leonard earned her Masters in Fine Arts from the University of Nebraska.
