She has helped develop and create interpretive exhibits for the Museum, Aquarium and Zoo marketplace including The Arizona Sonora Desert Museum, Hershey, The Academy of Natural Sciences, The Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education, Stroud Water Research, The Barnes Foundation, The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens, The New Jersey State Museum, UPenn Medical Center, Chester County Historical Museum, The York County Heritage Trust's Industrial Museum and Westtown School.

An advocate of life-long learning, Karen Watkins recently completed her MFA in Graphic and Interactive Design at Tyler School of Art at Temple University. Her thesis project, "Me Too" was a public installation that earned an SEGD 2016 Global Design Student Merit Award. Karen's goal was to create an environment where participants experience empathy in response to reading about the feelings associated with shame such as embarrassment, guilt and vulnerability as expressed by others. She set out to create a response device that enables a connection with these shared feelings.

Karen Watkins is an adjunct instructor of graphic design with special focus on cross-platform brand development and experience design.
