Julie Margot is a designer with international experience and a transcultural vision, Julie's work is distinguished for its frequent leveraging of multidisciplinary collaboration.
For over 25 years, Julie has been a valuable contributor to the development of identity systems, information design and wayfinding strategies for urban spaces, cultural institutions and transit systems. Her broad and inclusive approach produces functional and unexpected solutions that integrate into their environment with aesthetics, wit and intelligence.
Prior to establishing her own practice in Montréal, Julie Margot worked as an art director for internationally recognized design firms in Minneapolis, Paris and Montréal. In Paris, Julie honed her expertise with leading European design agencies Dragon Rouge and Minale Design Strategy, creating and implementing major identity systems for such clients as Renault, Volvo, La Poste, AXA Group, Nestlé, EADS (Airbus Group) and Bank Brussels Lambert. She also acquired an appetite for gourmet fare and high-end craftsmanship while working on the Lenôtre identity and packaging and an important redesign of the Cartier leather agenda collection.
Bicycles, boats, cars, trains and planes are all part of Julie Margot’s creative universe. For Julie, understanding spaces and user motivations is integral to creating relevant design solutions. A willingness to entertain new and unexpected ideas has enabled her to accompany a diverse spectrum of colleagues and clients and define meaningful approaches to user experiences on projects ranging from parking meters, mobile apps, highway safety, urban furniture, three-dimensional maps, airport lounges and intermodal commuting.
Julie Margot graduated from Southeastern Massachusetts University with a BFA in Visual Design and Multidisciplinary Studies in Sociology. She continued studies with the University of Tennessee Graphic Design program in London, UK.
