Julie Day's understanding of manufacturing is well-rounded as she has literally touched on all aspects of such throughout her 23-year career. Working from the ground up makes her a valuable partner in fabrication.
Starting her journey into the world of fabrication, Julie blossomed in a very supportive, classic sign shop environment. She brought artistic talents and passion to her everyday skillset - Everything from painting 3D routed HDU sign foam signs to applying adhesives, routing, assembling and ADA sign making, and vinyl installation. Coming up in such an open environment and being given unlimited opportunity to allow her natural curiosity and passion lead her in learning and developing her skillset was an invaluable foundation for her career. In addition, her love of materials and teaching developed into being her company's "go-to" to formulate streamlined production - everything from custom high-end pieces to mass produced items and working with and leading a team with varying abilities and skill level.
Enter the next phase of growth: PRINT. Learning about the "new technology" of grand and large format digital print, in 2005 - Julie felt the need to expand her career and moved to an entirely new realm. Being one of two people to found, place equipment and build up the digital print division of a grand format screen printing company. She developed extensive pre-press art set-up capabilities and technical knowledge of Rip programs, color correcting, maintaining media profiles, printing, finishing and management of production flow. In 2015, as the department grew, her primary position shifted to a client facing role with working directly with the designers, creative directors and architects, to bring full retail environments and bespoke feature walls to the company - well outside of the print realm. Working to build a strong network of outsource vendors and partners she built up the company's portfolio and capabilities. She became a go-to retail environment partner for fabrication and celebrated periodically returning to her roots to provide handmade focal wall elements and art installation for her clientele.
In 2021, she has found a home in D|Fab where she made the pivot of being a client to becoming their Client Leader. Having worked with D|Fab for years, it is undeniable that she has settled in where she belongs, adding her skills to D|Fab’s award-winning design studio - multidisciplinary mix of creative and engineering individuals who have a passion for creating memorable customer experiences.
