Jonathan Alumbaugh is a New England native with an education in photojournalism and graphic design. He received a BFA in Graphic Design with a CGPA of 3.61 from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. He’s interested in promoting community through design. His goals are to observe, tell the story of, and refine the interaction between people and design, and between people and people.
Jonathan Alumbaugh is an in-house designer at Minuteman Press, the number one rated printing and marketing franchise. There, he took over design and print prep work enabling staff to go on more in-person sales & customer service calls. Prior to that, Jonathan the staff photographer at Horizon Inc., where he photographed campers, creating a varied database of photos used for promotions, social media, and to capture and preserve the memories made at camp. Jonathan also photographed at The Chronicle Newspaper. As a freelancer, he consistently delivered engaging, high-quality human interest photos for use as standalone features or to go with stories.
Johnathan Alumbaugh received the third place award for Excellence in Journalism from the Society of Professional Journalism., where he was recognized for news photos in a newspaper with under 18,000 circulation.
Someday he'll find himself halfway across the world in pursuit of a design challenge. In the meantime, he seeks a design challenge on the homefront, in the Rhode Island/Southcoast/Boston area.
