Johanna Pedersen is an Senior Environmental Graphic Designer at SOM in San Francisco where she develops environmental graphics, interior and exterior signage, wayfinding, and branding for leading companies and organizations nationally and internationally.
She applies strong conceptual strategies, tools and media to create branded stories in the built environment that help people understand and connect to places. This expertise has translated into highly organized and effective signage and wayfinding solutions throughout museums and corporate environments. She has lent her enthusiasm and talents to such projects as Sitecore and Paypal tenant improvements; Aviation Museum’s façade in San Carlos, California; AAA headquarters in Walnut Creek, California; RealPage headquarters in Richardson, Texas; Visa tenant improvement in Palo Alto; Quicken relocation in San José.
Johanna Pedersen is a highly creative designer offering years of proven results, strategic problem-solving, solid teamwork, and the ability to follow through from concept design to design development and installation supervision. Johanna can help deliver successful signage and wayfinding systems and design strategies that represent her passion for communicating branded stories in the built environment.
Before joining SOM, Johanna was lead exhibit graphic designer for the Grammy Mississippi Museum, Google Partner Plex in Sao Paulo, Brazil and the International Spy Museum in Washington DC.
Johanna has a Master in Visual Communication Design from the University of Alberta, Canada; a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design from University of Buenos Aires, Argentina; and a Digital Technologies in Design Certification from Concordia University, Canada.
