Joell Angel-Chumbley has been active in the professional art and design community since the early 1990’s. Her work spans the disciplines of visual art, print and environmental graphic design and public art. This multi-disciplinary experience has resulted in local, regional and national mention in various publications and selected exhibitions. Recent works have been included both regionally and nationally.
Joell Angel-Chumbley has traveled throughout Europe, Canada and the United States documenting the natural landscape, and the historical /cultural characteristics of each unique destination. Every project begins by researching the significant visual and written accounts of the subject. Having this background knowledge brings concrete layers of meaning to Joell's work and provides a sense of connection to the subject. She believes that the “essence of place” results from the intersected layers of human experience grounded in nature, history and culture. Her site-specific installations and two/three dimensional works weave together these intersected layers of meaning and invite participants to discover the poetic depths of my creative environments.
