Jeff Zoll is a senior experiential designer at HDR.
I am passionate about improving the user experience and enjoyment of the built environment.
I grew up in the Philly ‘burbs and still live in the area. I am a graduate of the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia and have continued my education at Penn State, focusing on Human Factors and Human-Centered Design. I got my start in the advertising world, and am now a member of HDR’s Wayfinding + Signage Studio. I have a terrible sense of direction, which probably explains why I am so passionate about wayfinding. I love being part of an integrated team, where wayfinding can be coordinated with architects, interior designers, lighting designers, and site planners. In this atmosphere, wayfinding elements can be integrated, rather than applied. I am fascinated with human behavior and gaining a better understanding of what exactly makes specific design solutions effective.
My hobbies include cooking, home improvements, and working with my two sons on custom bicycles or anything with an engine. I enjoy playing golf even though I am awful at it, and also enjoy a nice Scotch from time to time.
