Image Resource Group (IRG) (Columbia, S.C.) has announced that Michael Axon and his company LaZerCAD Ltd. have joined Image Resource Group, bringing the latest technology in mobile field data acquisition and cloud-based data deployment systems.
Axon has assumed the new position of Vice President of Field Data Services for Image Resource Group. Axon has been and continues to be instrumental in the development of LaZer2CAD and cloud-based technology throughout the world. Technologies and processes developed by Axon are being used by 12 of the world’s top banks, says Image Reource Group.
“Michael and his team bring IRG a much broader resource for accurate as-built documentation and high-resolution, 360-degree photographs to architects and facility teams,” says Ted Randall, Image Resource Group vice president and partner.
Building Information Modeling (BIM) is rapidly becoming the cornerstone of renovation projects, affording project teams more accuracy, speed, and cost savings through design and project execution, Randall explains. “The missing link has always been transposing the existing building information into BIM. We have already deployed LaZer2CAD in the field, and now LaZer2BIM is the next important step in the data collection technology.”
“LaZer2BIM allows us to measure, draw, and create a BIM model in real time on site and upload it to the design team, architect, or Computer-Aided Facility Management (CAFM) team directly from the client’s building,” he adds. “This increases accuracy of building data as well as dramatically reducing the renovation program timeline.”
