Holmes Studio is the design company established by Creative Director Lucy Holmes in 2019. It continues and broadens the reputation in branded environment and information graphics established by her work at Holmes Wood, which she co-founded in 2000.

Lucy trained at the Rhode Island School of Design in the USA and spent her formative years in the design business working at Pentagram, the world’s leading independent design company.

In 2000 she co-founded Holmes Wood, which became a world leader in the design of direction and information schemes, focusing on visitor spaces as an expression of branding. International clients included major galleries, museums and other arts institutions, corporate groups, commercial and service organisations.

During her time, the company earned a reputation for being original and appropriate with an integral and special attention to detail, quality and craft.

Lucy is a multiple award winner from professional bodies, including D&AD, DBA, ISTD and SEGD. She is a Fellow of the RSA, and Board Member of SEGD. She regularly speaks on design internationally and has been a visiting assessor at a number of design schools, most recently Bath Spa University.
