Here’s What You WON’T Find at the 2014 SEGD Conference

No Stuffed Shirts at the Convergence Conference

We can’t guarantee an Elvis impersonator like we had in Vegas, but you’ll get no boring lectures here—or boring people for that matter. You’ll be inspired by speakers like urban artist HENSE, the creators of the Atlanta BeltLine, wayshowing expert Per Mollerup, and award-winning information designer Andreas Uebele.

Read our interviews with HENSE, Per Mollerup, and Andreas Uebele.

Fun Sponge

A fun sponge can suck the fun out of anything. But we won’t allow them in Atlanta, and you won’t be stuck in a bland, too-cold hotel conference room for three days straight. You’ll explore Atlanta on fun project tours, hike the BeltLine, or sip drinks with your new and old besties at our signature social events: Face2Face, the always-rambunctious Auction for Education, and Design Improv.

Original art or a vacation? Check out the auction block.

Piedmont Park or Atlanta TypeWalk? Pick a tour.

School Daze

Sure you’ll learn stuff. (Expense reports don’t justify themselves.) But being stressed out by an overloaded conference schedule isn’t educational OR inspiring. We’ll give you plenty of time to connect with old friends and make new ones. We know that’s important, so we’ve actually included it in the schedule. So relax, take a break. Then get inspired and energized!

Ho-Humm

No boring, clichéd presentations on overhead projectors. No old-school talking heads harrumphing and judging. Instead, we’ve filled the schedule with interactive, dynamic, and inspiring sessions like Women in EGD, Designing the Olympic Experience, Converging Generations, and Designing Immersive Environments with Technology + Media.
