Helena Achia is the Principal and Senior Industrial Designer at Achia Design in Ottawa, Canada.
Helena Achia has been working in various design disciplines since completing BID at Carleton in 2003. She founded Achia Design in 2012, providing freelance Industrial Design and Consultative Services. The focus of Achia Design is on design for public spaces, particularly interpretative and commemorative projects.
Achia Design was founded by Helena Achia. Her background includes 14 years of combined education and professional experience within the design industry. Moving forward Helena is interested in projects where user experience, artistry, brand messaging and spatial design collide.
Some of Helena's most recent projects include: Confederation Blvd Banners for Heritage Canada, graphic design production for ‘Footprints – A Walk Through Generations’ Traveling Exhibit for the Cultural Cree Institute, 'Garden of Provinces and Territories' Outdoor Interpretation for Heritage Canada, and 'Resilience - The Fire of 1916' Exhibit for the Library of Parliament.
Before starting her career as a freelance designer and owner of Achia Design, Helena Achia worked as an Industrial Designer for National Capital Commission where she Contributed to a variety of projects, including: custom kiosk design (Capital Visitor Information Kiosk at the World Exchange Plaza), various permanent installations (Commemorative / Interpretive / Public Art), and event signage (Canada Day & Winterlude).
