Our Possibilities Sketchbook process can be summarized as rapid conceptualization through visual listening. The ideas generated in interviews and group discussions are turned into visual meeting notes. The sketchbook’s minimal investment in production allows all stakeholders’ ideas to live equally, side by side, inside a readily distributable, easily reviewable deliverable.

Hal Kantner, AIGA, LEED GA, is the director of HOK’s visual communications group. Providing clients with creative programming and design, he brings organizational, marketing and management skills to the business of visual communications.
Hal Kantner serves as a Senior Vice President with HOK where he leads the firm’s Visual Communications studio. A 30-year veteran of graphic design for the built environment, his experience has been earned inside large architectural firms. He led graphic design at Caudill Rowlett Scott (later CRSS) for 10 years, where print publishing about land planning, real estate, construction, facilities, and workplace were integral to the service offering. The two decades with HOK have seen the rise of facilities as a media vehicle and the studio serves to interpret on-brand, of-culture, on-mission environments for corporate, cultural, and governmental clients. The studio’s focus continues with publishing in-print and on-screen, adding as well the dimensional venue of on-site experiential and interpretive graphics.
Hal Kantner's expertise is visual communications regarding architecture, facilities, workplace and the built environment. A specialist in Experience Enhanced Environments™, Hal marries visual communications with cultural attributes to create scripted, on-brand architectural experiences. His ability to disseminate information and standardize procedure is a reflection of organizational skills tempered with real world experience.
