Graham Hanson is a member of the 2018 SEGD Board.

Graham Hanson studied at Iowa State University and the Lorenzo de’ Medici Institute in Florence, Italy. Prior to founding Graham Hanson Design in 1997, he was with Vignelli Associates, where his projects included the identity and an environmental design and wayfinding system for the Guggenheim Museum, Bilbao, Spain, and projects for Philip Johnson at The Museum of Modern Art in New York. Before Vignelli Associates, he was with de Harak & Poulin Associates.

Graham Hanson's recent projects include large scale rebranding efforts for the Kuwait National Museum and Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH. He has longstanding relationships with several well-known corporate clients, including Google, American Express, and Panasonic. Among many ongoing projects for cultural organizations is a large-scale environmental design, donor recognition, and wayfinding initiative for Carnegie Hall, which his firm has been working on since 2010. His work in real estate includes brand development and intensive collaboration with Macklowe Properties and RFR in New York, both with whom he has collaborated with for many years, as well as projects with Vornado Realty Trust throughout the United States.

Graham Hanson has been an Associate Professor and thesis advisor in the Graduate Design Communications program at Pratt Institute since 1996, and has lectured widely on a variety of design-related issues. He has served on the Executive Committee of the American Institute of Graphic Arts/NY as vice president and serves frequently on design related juries.
