Signage is a major component of all wayfinding,placemaking and identity systems, and exhibitions. SEGD is a global community of the designers, fabricators and vendors involved in using signage to create a sense of place and to enhance peoples experiences when navigating their way through spaces.

The novel coronavirus has shown how vulnerable many sectors are to future pandemics. While occupancy levels are lower, it’s the perfect time to create more resilient, adaptive spaces, and the experiential graphic design industry has the potential to lead the way.

Harbinger Sign Completes Wayfinding Project in Waterside Place at Lakewood Ranch

Harbinger Sign announced the completion of a new wayfinding and identity program for Waterside Place, a new mixed-use development at Lakewood Ranch. The project was completed in February of 2022 in partnership with design firm API(+). The project consisted of the design, fabrication and installation of multiple sign types including vehicular and pedestrian directionals, interior and exterior room and building ID, monuments, banners, and kiosks. These signs included a custom layered wave feature as part of API(+)’s community brand identity.

IN OUR BACKYARD AND DAKTRONICS TEAM UP TO FIGHT HUMAN TRAFFICKING

Bend, OR, Mar 29, 2022 -A national anti-human trafficking nonprofit IN OUR BACKYARD (IOB) led by a child sex-trafficking survivor along with volunteers, law enforcement, government agencies, and local nonprofits teamed up to raise awareness and fight human trafficking surrounding the Super Bowl host city. Within one week of the big game 17 of the 36 children posted in the IOB Missing Children Booklets were recovered through collaborative efforts with law enforcement and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Los Angeles Sherriff’s Department reported 183 arrests of alleged sex buyers and 30 suspected traffickers, as well as 65 adults and 7 minors recovered. Human trafficking happens 365 days a year throughout the United States and risk increases around large events like the Super Bowl due to the entertainment and party atmosphere.
