The Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute at Lancaster General Health has been honored with two prestigious 2014 design awards: a National Healthcare Design Award from the American Institute of Architects/Academy of Architecture for Health, and a Design Excellence Award from the International Interior Design Association.

Every design aspect of the new outpatient center supports the delivery of extraordinary cancer treatment while enhancing the healing process for both patients and their families at this Lancaster, Penn. facility.

ex;it worked closely with Ballinger Architects as an integral part of the design team to develop a comprehensive wayfinding system and a vibrant donor recognition feature wall as the centerpiece of the main lobby. To support wayfinding and create a consistent visual element within the facility, the wall’s full-glass panels—in vivid, nature-inspired colors—were also used in the design of portal entryways into offices, clinics and recovery areas.
