On Thursday May 1st, the New York Chapter hosted an SEGDNY Presents event at the American Museum of Natural History. Members of the
Museum's Exhibition Department including David Harvey, Senior Vice President for Exhibition, and Catharine Weese, Director of Exhibition Graphic Design led guided tours for a behind scenes look at two of the museum's current exhibitions, Pterosaurs: Flight in the Age of Dinosaurs and The Power of Poison.
The tour groups explored each exhibit while stopping along the way to hear highlights, facts and behind the scenes stories from the various members of the museum's exhibition team who helped develop the exhibits. Designers, writers and technology experts, to name a few, shared their insight's on what goes into creating such world class displays. The tours ended at the museum's Hall of Human Origins where guests gathered for a reception and networking event.
A special thanks to David Harvey, Catharine Weese, Allison Hollinger, Rachel Kirshenbaum and all the members of the Museum Exhibition Department for planning this event and sharing a wonderful evening with us!
